Jimmy Cefalo is a modern-day renaissance man: American Journalist, news and sports broadcaster, radio talk show host, voice of the Miami Dolphins, multifaceted businessman, professional NFL wide receiver, and wine enthusiast.

150 years ago Jimmy Cefalo’s grandfather, Michael Cefalo came to the United States with a wine press and a dream. He became a coal miner, landowner and wine maker in Northeastern Pennsylvania. His father, a wine maker and inn keeper from central Italy, had given him that press so he could continue the family tradition – and so he did. By using his skills learned at his father Charlie’s knee, Jimmy’s grandfather crafted his wines with family skill tasted in each glass. Jimmy Cefalo is part of the 4th generation of the Cefalo’s wine family and is keeping the dream alive through Cefalo-Bassett, LLC.

Jimmy is a well-known wine enthusiast /expert receiving and Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration in Food and Beverage Management from Johnson & Wales University, the world’s largest foodservice and hospitality educator. Also an avid wine collector he has over 1,200 bottles in his personal wine cellar. Jimmy’s love of wine has led to the creation of four Miami businesses under the Cefalo International brand:

  • Cefalo’s Wine Cellar and Cefalo’s Wine Corner
  • Cefalo’s Cave Club with personal wine lockers, tastings, classes and meals
  • “Eat This, Drink That, Go!” a multimedia radio / TV / digital show that airs on WIOD, iHeartRadio and The Beach Channel
  • The Field Club by Jimmy and Brenda, the new premium luxury suite (formerly known as Cefalo’s Legends Suite) at the Miami Dolphins Sun-Life Stadium.

Jimmy Cefalo is the proud US Wine Ambassador for Bacardi’s House of Martini, CEO of Cefalo’s International, Co-Owner of Cefalo-Bassett, LLC, and partner in The Beach Channel, based in Miami.

Typical week in the life of Jimmy Cefalo
By day Jimmy is host of a Monday through Friday drive time sports/news program, South Florida’s First News on WIOD610. Jimmy’s show is the only news/politics show in the market for both AM and FM. On Saturday’s he co-hosts with business partner Brenda Bassett the multimedia radio/TV/digital show “Eat This, Drink That, Go!” and on Sunday’s each Fall for what will be 11 seasons this year, Jimmy is the “Voice of the Miami Dolphins.” He played for the Miami Dolphins in two Superbowls under the tutelage of Don Shula and was one of the NFL’s top wide receivers. Jimmy’s favorite job follows his passion as he serves as host of VIP tastings, educational experiences and new product unveilings for Bacardi’s House of Martini throughout the US.

In 1988, Jimmy Cefalo won an Emmy for his writing on the 24th Olympic Games. The National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association named him Florida Sportscaster of the Year five times (‘98, ‘01, ‘02, ‘03 and ‘04).
