Her blog, The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Maria Liberati™, was voted Best Culinary Blog of the Year 2013 by the New York Travel Writers Society to coincide with 2013 being the year of Italian Culture in the USA. Her award winning blog and social media sites for The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Maria Liberati™ have grown to a combined 200,000 + worldwide subscribers. The book series and some of the blog are written from her country home in the mountains of Italy.

Today, Maria is considered one of the foremost experts on Italian cuisine and culture. Maria’s latest book is The Basic Art of Italian Cooking: Da Vinci Style and follows Da Vinci’s travels throughout Italy and includes recipes famous in each particular place he visited. The book also includes little known information on Da Vinci’s foodie pursuits and poems from his notebook on food.

The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Maria Liberati™ will soon be a PBS TV series and is now in production in the hills of Italy. The pilot episode was just filmed in the Amalfi Coast and
includes segments in Amalfi, Positano and Ravello and is scheduled to be broadcast on PBS in late 2014/early 2015.
